His death, however, is faked by a government agent (Tim Matheson, who also directed) who needs Billy to help a secret commando unit fight a group of aliens--known as The Phylum--who have landed on Earth. Appearing to be human, the Phylum have superhuman strength phylum rotifera and a deadly plan to release a million bees, which are infected with toxic venom, thus signalling the end of the human race.
